Concentrates 101: Shatter

concentrate glass

Welcome to Concentrates 101! This week, we are spotlighting Shatter! Continue reading to learn how it’s made, how you can consume, and even products we suggest if you decide to try it for yourself!

What is Shatter?
Live Resin or Rosin both have a very malleable texture, while Shatter is glass-like and fragile looking. Typically, Shatter is made from flower, shake or trim like other concentrates; then butane and other solvents are used to remove the oils from the plant and put through vacuum or winterizing processes in order to get the glass-like consistency. The color of Shatter typically does not matter when it comes to potency like other concentrates, but instead taking a look at its makeup will present a better idea. A lot of individuals love shatter, but with the texture being less malleable than other concentrates, it’s not as popular. Ask a budtender next time you come in and see if Shatter is right for you!

How to Consume

Shatter can be used as a way to bring instant relief or if you prefer a quicker onset of effects. It is typically for individuals who love to dab, and don’t mind a harder consistency! First, you will need a dabbing tool in order to handle most concentrates. If dabbing is your style or you always wanted to try this method, a rig and torch will be needed to consume. You may also want to try placing the Shatter in a dab pen, which is essentially a vape rig. A great brand we recommend is Cannalicious

Wrapping up, Shatter is created using heat, butane, and other solvents to extract the oils, then put through further processes in order to get it to the perfect molecular consistency. Dabbing is the most popular form of consumption. Try some of our faves by stopping into our showroom, ordering curbside, or getting Breeze delivery!
